I nearly bid on a Spotty today until I noticed two things - missing triangular strap lugs and the blurb "In good cosmetic condition"!

Still keeping eyes open for a tidy, working example with or without lens for around 20. I have a near mint Super Tak 35mm f3.5, ever ready case, and original leather strap to suit one but lack the camera body to tie all of those together.

I`ve got a Spotmatic 1000 - original box,strap,cover,soft case,spare battery,receipt etc but I wouldn`t part with it under 90.
I have an SP in Black - 2404312 in VGC if you want to throw a price at me Matt - this has lugs, strap and I`ll throw in a flash mount too.

I got lucky recently with a good condition SP F on the 'bay for 12. It can still happen.

What is the volume of a standard lens anyway?
K5, K200 and several film Pentax cameras!

Depends on the DEPTH of field, whether there is a lens cap,and the specific gravity of the liquid inserted.

Yep, they made so many Spottys that I'll keep my eyes open, it'll happen sooner or later. I'm not fussed about a lens (already got a perfect 35mm waiting for it) which should mean I can find one that few others are interested in.

Thanks for the offer Tony, but I'm really after a chrome one rather than black and I doubt I could offer a fair price at the moment!

Yes, it CAN still happen, I bid on a Spotmatic F May 2009, mid morning, mid week, and won it for 26.

It was (is) immaculate, came with spotless smooth correct model SMC Tak 55mm f1.8 (lens with knurled rubberised focussing ring) and uv filter, genuine lens cap, SP F manual, and a working right era flash!

Only the camera had been mentioned. I have bought and sold Spotmatics since, but none as good as this 'keeper'.

Like a lady friend of mine said, "You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find a prince!"

I have a decent spot f in silver (couple of marks on the base that is all) with case and manual. Run a couple of films through it and it all works fine, 40 posted if your interested.

Too late - I managed to pick one up today for 19.50 including post. Listed as excellent, sounds as though the foam needs replacing but it should look good with the Super Tak 35mm, ERC and original strap that have arrived with various other cameras. I've also ordered one of the Wein Cell battery replacements, rather than having to fiddle with resistors.
