That good old topic - the 3 lens selection

On film, it would be the K30/2.8, the K50/1.2 and the M100/2.8. My main problem is that I nearly always want to pop the K28/3.5 shift in the bag, "just in case...". If I am trying to keep the filters to a minimum I might use the K85 or the K105 instead of the M100.

On digital, is depends where I am going but often the DA12-24, the FA 31 and the DA* 50-135. Oh, and the shift lens just in case...

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

A very interesting thread as I'm considering lenses for my K3iiiM. I already have a Tamron SP 10-20mm f3.5-4.5, which seems good as a walkabout lens, but I'm inclining towards a set of primes. I have a number of film era lenses to fall back on (in M42, 55/1.8 and 55/2 plus some telephotos that are packed away at present; in K, I have the A 28/2.8, M 50/1.7 , 55/1.. So I don't really hanker after a 50mm lens, but the holy trinity of FA Ltd's do appeal as well as the DFA 21/2.4. Choices...

It's been really interesting to see the various combinations and the reasons over the past year of this thread - and clearly there can never be a consensus or even a common selection but that's part of the fun I guess

I've just had a few days away in the Lake District and as always I agonised over which trio to take - my final decision wasn't too far away from the Full Frame selection I started this thread with (DFA21/2.4, DFA*50/1.4 & A*200/4 Macro) - this time it was the DFA21/2.4 Limited, F50/2.8 Macro and DFA*70-200/2.8. Was it a better set than last year - Yes - But it was notably heavier (the price of flexibility with that zoom )
