Both very nice shots.
Had my DA*300mm for about 3 years now and it's had a lot of use, definitely a very fine lens.

Love that blue tit, I notice the band on the leg, is that normal for wild birds in the UK now?

Yes, they're getting quite fashion conscious nowadays. Love that blue tit, I notice the band on the leg, is that normal for wild birds in the UK now?
I think the leg bands serve to determine the range and numbers of various birds.

Yes, it has been ringed. Each individual ring is numbered and applied by qualified 'ringers' enabling scientific tracking & analysis of bird populations.Love that blue tit, I notice the band on the leg, is that normal for wild birds in the UK now?
Clearly this lens is wasted on you Alan
