Tasmanian beach

A picture I took on my recent holiday in Tasmania.

Comments appreciated...good and bad

Well. Considering that the light and the sky are fairly uninteresting, this sort of photo stands or falls on its composition.

The grass, the beach, the water line and the waves all provide a set of converging lines that quite pleasingly draw the eye to the curving cliff line at the end of the beach... and thence to the far coast and the island.

The vignetting from the 18-55 is apparent, but inoffensive, and there's nothing annoying in the shot.

All things considered, it's not at all bad. Not stellar, but those conditions don't lend themselves to stellar photographs.

I quite like it.

I feel I'm sitting in the tall grass, in the sun, listening to the waves, and gazing to those far off mountains.

I like all the colours in the water, and the fact that there are no people in the shot.

Very peaceful.

And so very far away to an Eastern Canadian.

Why cant we have seas like that in the UK, blue would make a change from dirty grey

We do have seas like that. It's the bright sunshine that we don't have.

One of the best beaches I have ever seen was on the western side of North Uist. It looked so good I just had to have a swim.

Fortunately the place was deserted, so the fact that I was au naturel was not a problem. A cozzie was not part of my wardrobe for the Outer Hebrides in October.

As the Gulf Stream passes by, it was not as cold as I had feared.
