Tamron sp 2x tele Converter help

Hi guys,

Suffering with a case of LBA recently and today purchased a Tamron SP Tele-Converter 2X BBAR MC For Pentax K F System.

I thought as my pockets are not as deep to purchase a good zoom lens and Macro lens I thought I would give this a go. But, When connected to my K-x and manual 50mm 1.7 Prime Lens opened at the widest aperture I get a black picture??

Like wise when changed to a Manual Sigma 70-210mm same, and the kit lenses that I have also do not work.

I have changed the setting in the camera to accept manual lenses but am I missing something really obvious or is the converter I purchased not compatible with my beloved K-x (soon to be a K-5 of if I'm really lucky K-3 price dependant.

Any help would be appreciated.

Shutter is firing at 1/1250!!! Doh

Changed it to a lower shutter speed and works a treat
