Hi all just been on the tamron website to see where i could get the new 150-600 lens not avalible in pentax so i have had a rant at them acusing them of being in the pockets of the big 2 and sony i pointed out that there is only 6 off there lenses that fit pentax from there rang but out of all there range only 1 did not fit the big 2 and sony

i also pointed out that new photographers were going to other cameras because of there actions on releasing new products that do not fit pentax ther response wase sales and demand but i also pointed out that it would not cost them anything more as they already have the mounts to produce the lenses

i think a few mor pentax user need to moan at them and sigma

stu regards

Sigma are also bringing out this lens and i emailed them to see if they were going to produce it in Pentax fit.
The reply was that they have not confirmed this lens or any other in a Pentax fit.Seems that third party manufacturers are not bothering with Pentax

You can't coerce them. Producing lenses in a Pentax mount is either a viable market for them or it isn't. Currently, it seems it isn't.

Tamron said a long time ago that they would not be supporting Pentax any more. Ranting doesn't help I'm afraid.

Moaning makes absolutely no difference.

Pentax aren't going to stop producing DSLR's with video capability
People aren't going to stop using Photoshop etc
The K-5 is a better camera than the K20D
Tamron are not going to start producing lenses for something that is obviously unprofitable for them.

Use what is available or swap systems to a mount that does have the lenses you want/need/lust after.

Merry Christmas everybody

You have to buy into a system based on what is available at the time, not what may be available in the future (or what may not be).

I was told at the photography show in Feb that the mount has to be licensed from Pentax and is too costly.
It's a shame I'd love to try the 150-600.

Surely third party manufacturers will be very happy for you to swap systems which they do support.
