I'm not sure how we can do this with the distance, maybe through the post on trust. I received an offer from johnha to buy the 28-105 but still waiting for a reply from my PM. Maybe if johnha wants the lens I should sell and just buy yours, what do you think?

The irony of all this is, Cliff-P has just given me his broken Tamron 70-300 LD Di with a view to fixing it for myself, the zoom ring is not working and there's something loose inside. I've not had chance to take it apart yet.

I'm happy to go with whatever works for you. If Johnha has bought your lens already, best to honour that. And you are welcome to buy the Tammy. Or if not, happy to do a swap via the post. Also happy to wait to see if the other Tammy is repairable.

It would only be fair to let Johnha have the 28-105 first as that had been agreed prior. Although really appreciate his offer of letting the swap go ahead.

In no rush to sell my Tamron, so have a play with the broken Tamron, see what you can do John. If all fails, mine is here for you.

Thanks for your understanding, Johnha has agreed to buy the lens so I'll honour the offer and go ahead. I had my previous Tamron stolen and quite miss having it alongside the DA 17-70. I'll take a look at the broken one this evening and see if it's viable to fix it if I get chance and keep you posted. Sorry for any inconvenience caused and like I say please don't feel obliged to keep the lens if you have a cash offer but I appreciate the offer.

Good to hear John is still buying the 28-105, read the reviews this morning. A cracking lens.
And good luck with the repair this evening. Hopefully an easy fix. No offers on my lens, so its here if the repair proves too problematic.

Well I've got the mount off and the PCB's/ribbon cable out of the way and found the offending article in the Tamron. Now I've just got to figure out where it goes, so it requires more investigation tomorrow, I'm losing the light and my old eyes are tired.
