I am glad it worked out ok, and looks a sweet lens. I still have a Helios which is gummy from rotten foam in a camera case...

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

In my experience lighter fluid or WD40 will remove most foam goo without damaging glass or paintwork, providing you don't scrub at it with something rough. Obviously not suitable for focusing screens!

I scored a Super Takumar 24mm f 3.5 a while ago in an auction.
I was dismayed to find it looking like this on opening its case
The glue in the bottom of the case had returned to its original atoms
Luckily it cleaned up perfectly
I really like the field of view it covers.
It seems very sharp and it just looks so sweet on the K100D
cheers
