I would really like to have something like this:

But the price of this setup is about 560 to 600 Euro's.

The first thing that comes to mind is build something yourself. The first hurdle for me would be to know where to buy the stuff. The translucent plastic is the biggest problem for me, I don't see it in DIY stores.

And what to use for the background, is it thin cardboard or do they normally use different materials? Thin white cardboard (or other colours so you can create a blue or green box for trick shots) can be bought cheaply.

I would like to start playing with this kind of equipment but 600 Euro's is a little to much... (SWMBO is to be kept happy....).

I think i posted a while back a light tent made from a cheap laundry hamper, but you could also try getting to the hardware store and grabbing a white plastic shower curtian, and some white pvc pipe and some "T" and "L" fittings and construct your own......any large sheet of paper will work for backdrops.
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

I took the pic below using just a sheet of white card laying flat on the table at one end and then curving up to a box at the back (giving me an 'infinity curve') and then bouncing flash off the ceiling. I was pleased with the result and it was no trouble to set up.

Daniel that looks like a very impressive pro pack shot

Thanks guys
I will take a trip down to the DIY store and find myself some materials.
A collapsable setup looks the best way so I can easily take it apart.

I will however start by doing some simple shots by just using a piece of paper and something behind it to get the curve.

Just remember to get the biggest sheet of paper/card you can, I got this thin card from an artist supply shop, it's A1 size and it's still too small sometimes for the bigger things.

This shot needed some cloning to fill in the far corners.
