Sutter lag S v S4

Hi All

I've owned my S for about 3 months and find it a great wee camera. However, the lag is not as easy to 'put up with' as I first thought.

I'm considering an upgrade to the S4 but firstly need to know if Pentax have addressed this area. Does anyone know if there is an improvement over the S? Many Thanks.

Hi Robert,

I can't comment on the diference between the S and S4, as I only have an S4. I can say that shutter lag is significantly less evident on the S4 when compared to my previous Pentax digital compact, the Optio 33L. That said there still is some shutter lag, particularly when in auto flash mode. I find that disabling the flash for daylight shots gives a much more positive response. Image quality is superb, and as with the Optio S, it is just so pocketable - a true carry all the time camera.

Regards

Hi Stephen

Thanks for the reply. From my research I've found out, as you say, if I disable the autoflash, it cuts down on lag. Also, I found that depressing the shutter button halfway to lock the focus helps.....espaecially for those action shots! Thanks Again.
