Super A/TTL Flash/M lenses

I have a Super A but not the manual. I have not tried an M series lens on it with flash, only an A series.
AFAIK it used the stop down lever to detect aperture not the electronics. That is why you can't record aperture if using the aperture ring on a digital camera.
As it is old type reflective TTL it should work matter what K mount lens you use as it measures at the time of exposure.

Yes it will.If I put my Super A in Av mode (camera set to auto with lens set to a numeric aperture, rather than "A") as I would with K or M lenses, will TTL flash still work?
TTL flash is controlled by a sensor within the mirror box. It, together with its associated electronics, measures the light reflected from the film and quenches the flash to give the correct exposure.
TTL flash is also available on early Pentax DSLR's (*istD, *istDS & *istDS2) but has been superseded by P-TTL flash. Newer Pentax DSLR's do not have the mirror box mounted sensor and so cannot measure the light reflected from the sensor.

Thanks for that
I find the M 50mm lens much nicer to use on film than the A series, simply as they have a metal aperture ring which makes for more precise control. Obviously being able to use these with TTL flash is extremely useful!
While TTL flash doesn't work with newer DSLRs you can use Program flash or the Auto flash modes, which are pretty effective in my experience.

I took the manual's wording as meaning that the camera and flash will automatically decide what level of light output is required based on the aperture selected and film speed, but is this correct?
