Somewhere, I have a Super A - it had a winder failure that could not be repaired. When I can find it, I will be putting it up for sale. Everything was fine, except (as I said) the winder.
It failed 10 minutes after landing in Delhi for a 5 day whirlwind trip - fortunately the power winder was still OK and that will be up for sale too.

Is it a MEII winder or the dedicated A series one? The former are very common and cheap as chips, the latter gets a better price.

It is the dedicated A series winder. I keep planning a "clear out" of my older and obsolete equipment.

There are several Super 'A' in various states of repair on eBay at the moment, that I am watching.

Womble - I have just found it, it is actually a MOTOR DRIVE A. Bought at the same time as the camera.

There wasn't a Winder A, the MEII winder fitted the A-series cameras, the motordrive has a choice of speeds I believe. As always Dimitrov's site has all the gen...

On a Super A the screen can be removed by unscrewing two tiny screws just above where the mirror damper foam is attached. With these screws removed a cradle can be lowered and the focusing screen removed.
I need to know if it is the same on the Program A? The reason is that the screen on my Super A ideally needs replacing and cheap Program A's come up a lot more often on eBay than Super A's.
