Down at Mountbatten Beach, Plymouth, Devon at low tide. Even with the slight sea breeze it was hot.

Might be my monitor (crappy laptop) but looks like the intense blue is getting the better of things and needs adjusting down a bit?
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

I agree with David, looking at the rocks it appears the white balance is too cool so experimenting with that in post processing would be worthwhile. For a long time I left the while balance in the camera settings at auto but found the results benefitted from editing; you don’t actually realise until you compare a warmer setting with the original. I get much better in-camera results by changing the camera setting to daylight for outdoor shots, or cloudy for when it is really overcast.

I am not finding the blue sky to be particularly intense. There is however certainly a cooling effect on the rocks which would benefit from some warming up.

I am wondering if there is a problem with the colour profile the images are tagged with. RTv4_sRGB seems to be a Raw Therapee propriety profile and not what I would normally expect for web postings ...... sRGB.

Colour profiles are a minefield, and in some cases less important these days when most browsers will deal correctly with profiles.

I wonder if LOT could re-post the images after changing the output colour space to sRGB and see if it makes any difference.

Thanks for the comments peeps again.
On the KP I checked my settings; WB = Daylight and Custom Image = Natural.
I changed the profile output on RT to the only one listed that I assume is the sRGB only = "No ICM; sRGB" from "RTv4_sRGB" which is the default on my Beta copy of RT (unless I changed it ages ago following advice from Andy Astbury).
I then looked at the outputs but couldn't see much difference at all. I can't really post them here as the one posted was also tweaked afterwards with GIMP which I use to boost contrast typically, and worse I think I deleted some copies.
Many thanks for the help here, I do tend to rush out the pics to the forum and should spend more time PP'ing the shots. In RawTherapee I also tend to use mainly exposure/curves/LAB adjustments using CC to boost 'saturation effect'. Then inevitably I 'forget' White Balance LOL. Still learning RT and the Local Adjustments available on this Beta version is great, also Spot Removal.
Oh after a search I found so much info on RTv4_sRGB etc, amazing.

Cheers.
