suggestions for shooting landscape

Hi,
what a lot of questions.
Your walk around 18 -55mm will get you good landscape shots at F8,
I have a Sigma 10 -20mm which I use especially for seascapes. Sometimes though it is too wide angled to get the detail I want!
Precession (the rotation of the earth) means night skies will start to trail over 60 seconds. I did a Milky Way shot in Greece this May at 57 seconds ISO 800 and F4. I find my home night skies too light polluted but 30 seconds does the job here on the edge of a town.
Hong Kong then Canada! I bet a lot of us on here now think our lives boring! Good luck.

For long exposures you need a tripod and it's better to use a tripod for landscapes to begin with so get a decent one.
18-55 would do fine as would the 28mm, the 35-70 might also work and if you want you can even use your tele lens, certainly in the mountains.
Since landscapes aren't moving so much you can take your time to setup your photo, so maybe it's a good idea to read up how shutterspeed, aperture and ISO effect your photo and how to use them. That means going fully manual, a big step though but maybe you can do it?

i am moving to canada the coming saturday, i am currently in hong kong.
i have a sigma 150-500, pentax 18-55 ,pentax 28 ,pentax 35-70
i want to ask about wide lens, are they really good for landscape?
while shooting, which mode should i use?
i love shooting skies , does longer exposures make the pic look like it's in motion? if yes, how do you set it?
between is there any suggestion for shooting landscape? If yes, please leave a comment below because i am really willing to learn!
