Stuck Pixels

I recently bought a DL2 at the nice Jessops price and have just noticed 2 hot or stuck pixels just off-centre of the frame. On looking thro the photos they seem to have been there from about the 34th frame.

Is this a common problem?

I have asked both Pentax and Jessops if i can get a repair under the warranty but neither have replied as yet.

It is quite possible you may get a replacement. However, whatever happens you'll probably acquire them over time even with the replacement.

My 3 year old *ist-D now has probably ten or so pixels. It had none when I bought it. More show up when using long exposures, and/or using higher ISO settings. Fortunately I shoot in RAW and Capture One LE usally automatically removes them all - so I never have to worry too much.

However, when using JPG you are stuck with them (excuse the pun) and end up having to use the healing brush (in Photoshop CS or Elements 3).

Sorry if that's not much help!

Thanks for your responce Matt. Pentax have replied just to say send the camera. I think i will hold off for a mo cos the 2 clusters of hot pixels have 'dimmed' somewhat and cant be seen on 99% of pics.

Coming from an mx, i just love the digital and hve been using it with a 10-17, an old A series 50/1.7 and M series 200
