Strawberry Fare

Great photos! Do you mind sharing the editing software you used?

Good Afternoon Moonlight,

I used Photoshop 6, ( PS6 ) I didn't do much to the original image other than dodge in some of the black background to the right of the strawberry as the torch did spill the light a bit, then extend the canvas a little to get the strawberry on the 3rd, took less than 5 mins total

The second image was just then a copy, paste, and a flip to get it facing the other way and line it up with the other one. took about 2 mins

A splendid image Chris. My choice is the first version in post #1 - the balance of the composition just feels better to me compared with the later altered image. Perhaps tone down the very bright highlights in the reflection near the tip of the strawberry?

When you comment that you "didn't do much to the original image", was the "original" a default raw conversion in PS ACR or was it a JPEG from the camera?

I always shoot in RAW, I don't have the un-worked original unfortunately as I'd upload it so you could see.

I did prefer the first single strawberry image, and I agree the balance seemed better, I'll have a look re your highlights comment in the reflection, thank you

Thanks Derek, I did that cos I found it interesting and it was fairly easy in PS to do once the tweaks were made on the original.

Hi Moonlight,

My white balance was set on cloudy, as normal which would have boosted the colours slightly, the lighting was bounced industrial LED off a white ceiling.
