Strawberry Fare

2 images from Friday evening,

Had this in mind for a while, shot using a black tile for the reflection, a piece of polystyrene roofing insulation painted black one side and a LED torch taped to a lighting stand.

Exposure 2.2 seconds, F7.1 100 ISO K1 with a Pentax 100mm Macro F2.8 lens plus tripod.

The second image is generated by copying and pasting the left strawberry and reflection, flipping the image then lining up to mirror the left hand side.

Two good images Chris. Colour really pops on both shots.

Great reflections add to the visual impact.

Best regards

Thanks K10D, I've not tweaked the saturation or vibrancy on either image so that's straight from the camera.

Superb image quality. The red is startlingly good (and I know that red has been challenging for digital sensors before). The black is all deep and silky.

Artistically I'm not keen on the mirrored one. I like the concept of the single object in a sea of black. I'd be inclined to further isolate the one strawberry even further over nearer the corner, with more black space in the frame .

Thanks Nigel

Honestly, the red is straight from the camera, I'll take a look at your composition suggestion.

Appreciate your thoughts

Lovely crisp shot. I tend to agree with Nigel over keeping it isolated.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
