I'm here in Edinburgh listening to the wind outside, Gareth. I can only imagine what the sea is like. These are great photographs and sum up what I imagine is what happening offshore currently.

Good stuff! The slightly erie light in and from the clouds makes them just a bit different from the typical 'rough sea and rocks' photos.
Hope you didn't put yourself at risk taking them.

+1 - I was expecting dark and damaging, but the lighting is quite calming

Thanks all, got a spray a few times but only light as I was out of reach. A Rule I've learned over time is to always check your 6 and have an escape route just in case!

No longer living close to the coast, experiencing the sea during or soon after a storm is something I miss.
Thank you for the pictures Gareth. The sea is not as dramatic as you have posted before now but I can taste the salt on my lips.
