Put a new silica gel bag in the box.
If its going to be in storage for a year or more wouldn't you be better off selling it and keeping the money safe. In a years time I would think k-5 will be the same price as current k-7 values...

I'm not sure that modern cameras store well. If it's not going to be used I'd sell as well, and then rebuy when the time is right.
If you must store, then out in the open on a shelf, with plenty of air circulation. Keep the battery charged if you want to keep the settings, but why bother if it's going to be a long time. In that case, store without battery.

I agree, sell now and buy again when the time is right.

I know the history, it's calibrated to my lenses and I don't know when the time will come. Guess that's the issue. Also, K7s don't seem to be selling on the forum that well.
Thanks for the advice, I think I will go with out and keep a charged battery in. I will have as a backup camera then.

If I were you - I would just carry it around as a second body. If you are anything like me - you will be surprised at how often you use it. I normally carry 2 bodies these days - with very different lenses attached. So for instance if I am doing some slow shutter speed work - I can play with the other body and lens whilst waiting 2 minutes+ for an exposure.

No matter how many lenses I have owned - I have always needed just one more

What advice would you have for storing, I don't want to loose the settings nore have to reset the time date etc. If I store without the battery in, how long does the camera 'remember' the settings?
I have the dry place to store and suitable body cap so any additional advice would be much appreciated.
