Star Trail

not a footie fan so had a go at this last night. second time i have tried this but this is the first time stacking, used Startrails.exe and for those interested (Nigel)
DA15 f4 @f5.6, iso 200,30sec, wb tungsten,continuous shooting 107 exposures using locked remote, camera sat on floor on gorilapod ,me sat in car in warm, a full moon. a few jaggies not sure how to improve, more shots same settings or a lot more at shorter shutter speed. any help appreciated

Really like that ... gate adds something to the picture as well.

A cracking shot. Been a while since I've done some looong trail's, and nothing as good as this! I remember trying it out on the K10, bulb open and left in the yard while I worked nights, went back to it 4hrs later and couldn't work out why it wanted to take the same amount of time to show me the image! LoL!!

Nice! The jaggies, are they jaggies on the original full-sized stack? Might be the method you're using to resize it to a smaller pic, try the other ways (if using photoshop that is)

A most impressive shot and I agree that the gate and post adds a great dimension to the shot. Congratulations on applying the technique so well

thanks for the comments, did the same as you daz on my first attempt put me off trying any more until i heard about stacking. was quite surprised how many showed through with a full moon in the sky so can,t wait to try with a new moon.

Great shot, looks like a wormhole to another place.

thanks again for the comments. with ref. the software, this was done with star trails.exe after a couple of tweaks in lightroom which were syncronised to all images. i did try star trax but this was the cleanest version. with star trax you fill gaps manually whereas stratrails does it all for you, maybe with practice i could improve it with star trax, both pretty good for free software though
