As you know I can not get out of going to Whitby.
Pickering has the Traction engine rally 2nd-5th Aug and the Railway at War 12th-14th Oct. I enjoyed my day at the railway weekend last year and I'm told the traction engines are well worth a visit

All good - and I will be at all of them - but what's new for me - most weekends I can either be found in Whitby, Sandsend, Robin Hoods Bay, Pickering and NYMR or within a 20 mile radius.
The Pickering Traction rally is a great weekend Barrie- especially if you can stay for the evening.
I have overdone Whitby and surrounding area recently so am looking for somewhere a bit different.
In fact - if any member living within a 2 hour drive of North Yorks ever fancies a day out showing me their local area - I am always up for a meet on a weekend - broadly speaking - anywhere between Newcastle - Liverpool - Hull and Nottingham. Equally - if any member wants showing around this area - or wants advice on where to visit - just let me know
Carl
No matter how many lenses I have owned - I have always needed just one more

Autumn is due here next month. I'll need to get a new hot water bottle or copper bed warmer. Just too used to the balmy 38'C lately. It was 28’C in the house last night with front & rear windows open.
I may be returning to do a wedding in Bristol at the end of May but will travel down from the North East. Would be good to touch base with a few people if I get enough free time.
Best regards

That's a pleasant surprise Barry. Thought you and M might be being told to take it easy.
I think 28 April will be the main Saturday. It doesn't preclude doing other things of course.
Although I can personally live without dragonflies!

Any body fancy Lindisfarne, if we can catch the tides?

Whitby Goths, Pickering Traction Engines and War Weekends, The North Yorks Moors railway, I'm up for all or any of these. Barrie and I can come along and be with TWO different groups of photographers at the same time: You Pentax guys and our own local Durham Photographic Society members. We mix it with the Canon, Nikon, Sony and Olympus users there quite easily without ever falling out with them.

I'm still pretty pi**ed off with them from last time:
We arrived, signs asking us to park in the (excessively) expensive car park and take the bus.
We paid and got to the other end of the car park only to discover that the bus didn't run on Mondays and everything was closed!
They might have had the decency to put signs up before that point!
(Rant over)
But we could charter a boat and go and see the puffins!

Hi Neil, It's going to be mid March before I find out when I can drive again and in April it works out we have two trips to Whitby, so I can't see me being able to squeeze anything alse in.

Any more votes for the Railway Weekend, I'm up for it. I suggested Holy Island as something different to people in costume and maybe earlier in the year. Open to other ideas?

I'm still up for Whitby (if it isn't raining) but any other suggestions, thoughts, musings, ponderings or ideas?
