I have a Spotmatic, Spotmatic II, and a Spotmatic F.
The II is my favorite.
There are a couple of very good places to have it resealed and calibrated if need be - just let us know.
Enjoy the greatest quality.

Hi,
Unless you have a service history of the Spot, it will almost certainly need a service. s there any sign of stickyness on the rear door where it rubs against the light seals? If so this needs to be addressed. It is a very simple DIY job but it would also indicate that the speeds, especially the fast ones could be out. Try removing the lens, hold the camera up with to back door open and point it at a light evenly coloured surface. (a white wall is best) fire the shutter at the faster speeds. Does the rectangle appear evenly lit and "full". If not the shutter is definately capping and needs a re-lube. I don't know about Holland but I do know a good repairer in the UK that charges around £40 to service the Spots.

what a beautiful piece of engineering that is.
Among the glass that came with it is a SMC Takumar 55/1.8 what a beautifull piece of glass that is... I allready took some test shots with it mounted on my ist-DS, it looks very good.
So I will go out and by a couple of rolls to try out the SP-II. The camera looks like it is in very good condition, it is built like a tank...
