Split screen disappointment.

I was reading about the 50mm lens pentax has out. I have three of them. I tried one on my K10 yesterday and I was impressed with the images I was able to get. There is no AF on my lenses and that is where the disappointment comes in. Having a split screen would help a lot when using MF lenses. I am starting a poll, who would rather have a split screen on their pentax?

I agree, however, all Pentax SLRs give focus confirmation in the viewfinder whcih works pretty well. A split screen also affects spot metering function, so not totally desirable.

I put down "yes" although in truth I'd be happy with the standard screen but I'd like Pentax to offer a split screen as an optional extra (at the same price as the other optional screens offered, rather than the Katz Eyes price).

I don't like them, so no, not as standard, but as an optional extra OK.

I'm with Gwyn and hefty on this one, optional extra is fine by me.
