Still learning with my lensbaby. This time with a small extension tube in place.




This has somehow suffered between my saving the JPEG and Flickr showing it but I can't see how.

As I think has this one - clearly I have more to learn!

Interesting effect Mike, How did you achieve it : Was the web moving and the strange effect on the left was from the flash.:

It's a lensbaby in sunlight. I'm still trying to work out if it's a gimmick or a useful tool. The lensbaby introduces a degree of distortion at the edge and you can move the centre of focus around. They do look better on my PC than here though which I don't understand.

Mike, do these Lensbaby's jus' screw into the filter thread on any lens?

Pauly - the LB is proper bayonet mount. Check out their web site. It's a real two element lens either plastic or glass and the tube is a wobbly plastic tube that lets you shift the lens in relation to the sensor. In that way the sharpest spot in the frame moves around the sensor and the exploding blur effect also moves.

As I say I'm still in two minds about it but it is without doubt fun and the lens is reasonably sharp when in focus and is 50mm focal length.

I have mainly done close ups so far I must try larger views and see how it goes.

Flare! They use some form of pork fat as the coating from what I've seen. But you can avoid that with care.
