personally I would'nt get a battery from E-bay. I have heard of too many horror stories about fake batteries.
If you want a good battery that is half the price of the Pentax, get the Hahnel one. only £20 from WEX, I have one and it is a good as the Pentax one.

First one I received was Duff but was replaced no trouble and has worked fine since.
p.s. looked on 7 day shop yesterday none of this type in stock

Like Offertonhatter I bought a Hahnel one for around £20. I've noticed no difference in performance between this and the genuine Pentax but I quite liked the reassurance of having "branded" battery (even if the brand isn't Pentax). I'd used Hahnel products for years and always found them to be of the highest quality.

I've got a no-name one 1500 mAh for EUR 15.50 incl. p+p.
No problems with it so far and I couldn't say that I noticed a difference to the original Pentax one.

I have 2 pentax and 1 no name 1750mAH type. I personally find the pentax hold there charge longer, but unless your in a remote area for days a no name one is a good backup.

7DayShop is THE place to buy from if not buying a genuine Pentax battery. I bought three about a year ago and they've been working well.

As a proud new owner of a K10D I wonder if anyone can offer any comments on extra batteries, i.e. if pattern batteries from China are worthwhile or do they give up the ghost after a short while?
I have just been looking on ebay, best offers I have seen so far from sellers with decent feedback are:
1x1750mAh £6.78 inc
2x1800mAh £11.58 inc
What do you think?
