Spad's test sessions!

As I said in Rick's Summer Projects post, here is my test shots!

This is my first time lapse with a motion control system.





This image is my first attempt at a multi-row panoramic.




Here are a few more images I took while I was out!




This one has something flying in it.... can you spot it?

Some great results Spad, the fragmented clouds make interesting viewing between light and shade on the subject.

The motion control system looks interesting, had a quick Google to see what kind of thing you are using, have you got one that does both linear movement and panning too? How do you control what it does, does it come with a device or do you use software on a laptop?

Is it something you're planning on using for your Astro photography?

One of my favourite videos from you was the Magpie Mine time lapse, but for that one you were tracking the stars/constellation?

See in the closing credits you recorded the music too, you're a very creative person

The kit I have is linear but with a bit of fannying I can do both. I did look at a bit of kit that can do both, but they're silly money! So I am gonna attempt a bodgit and scarper... keep your eyes on here for when I do it!

The two systems I have, one has a controller that I programme it to do what I want. This is the GVM GT-60D. The other bit of kit I have is a Syrp Genie. This one you actually have a screen on it that you do all the programming via. The upto date kit is now under Manfrotto, but it is engineered by Syrp, It is now all programmed via an app.

Yes.... hopefully in the next 4 to 6 weeks, if I get a weekend with clear weather I will be heading to a dark sky site in Wales to hopefully do a galactic core timelapse! Unfortunately... it will more than likely be shot with my Canon 5D MkII becuase.... and it pains me to say this.... it producess better core images than any of my Pentax kit. Plus another advantage to it is, I can lock the shutter perminantly up!

Music used to be a massive passion of mine! I had a load of studio kit and played in bands... but becuase of my health issues I had to give it up. I can't play in bands and for me, that was what it was all about. Not interested in playing stuff and vommiting on YouTube!

Thanks for the replies Spad, look forward to seeing the motion assisted timelapses. Pretty sure they'll be amazing with the linear movement adding a further dimension.
