South West Pentax Day - Dec 12th

I popped into Clifton Cameras yesterday who have moved out from Bristol to Dursley in Gloucester, to try out a Tamron 10-24 (but didn't buy).




They have a nice shop and are hosting a Pentax day on 12th December where they promise special deals and goodies!

Pentax staff will be present for questioning as well as products to try (and buy!). LINK

Might pop over there,again,depending on what SWMBO has to say and depending on what`s in her diary...although having just bought a K20D,she might have other ideas.

There's Barnstaple on Dec 3rd and Exeter on the 17th - LINK

But nothing in the independent dutchy of Cornwall!

Exeter is probably the best bet. Half an hour nearer than Barnstaple. (and it has other shops too). Our visitors are surprised to find that on reaching Bristol and considering themselves to have reached the west country, its another 190 miles to west Cornwall. The downside is we can't just pop into John Lewis or Ikea.

Now what are we demonstrating about?

Richard, Thanks Barnstaple is just 10 mins from us, but hadn't seen this advertised in local papers or anything.

Chance to play with some lenses we could never actually afford to buy (but may hire for occasions from SRS once they have that service up and running - hooray!)

What sort of deals do they offer at these days? Nothing too outstanding I dare say - or am I wrong?

Probably a free lens cloth or a Pentax binocular key fob!

I'm sure there will be some incentives to "buy on the day", I don't know of any self respecting sales person not wanting to close some deals!

I went the weekend before and bought my K7 from that lady behind the counter

Bugger!!! missed it!

I went along and didn't meet anyone from the forum!

I played around with a K-x and K-7 and also compared my DA*60-250 against a Sigma 150-500 (more of that later) and I met James from Pentax who was very busy with buying customers!

I also spent some time trying to get my gear into various different Billingham bags, but couldn't decide on the day.

I've been lusting after one for years and visited again today and finally succombed and lashed out on a new Billingham 307 link - Ouch! In Khaki of course!

Didn't dare go - been waiting for my Gitzo Tripod since July from Clifton Cameras. Latest forecast for delivery - early December. 2009?
Gitzo production shut down in August for their annual holiday. It seems they have yet to catch up with the lost production...
