Hi all
My son is getting married on Saturday.
I will not be taking the "proper" wedding photo's.But i will want to take some images after the service and candids at the reception, my son is actually playing guitar with the band.I was going to use the Tammy 18-250 for everything, but after testing it in low light etc the af is far to slow.
So from the list of lenses in my signature can someone please help with choosing a couple of lenses to take ( i wouldnt want to keep changing the lenses all the time).
Thanks for your help.

As an X wedding photographer I would take the 18-250 and up the ISO a bit because it is the most versatile lens you can find, and as your not the official photographer the photos will not be so important.

Forgot to add check out what the official photographer is using

Definitely the 50mm f1.4

Best lens you own, and you are going to have real quality photographs.

Let the professional do his job and get the shots he needs, and concentrate on more artistic viewpoints, and focus / OOF composition.

The focal lenght will be lots of fun for the wedding.

Good luck

A wedding photographer will be doing all the group shots, so I'd be content with just the 50mm, because of its speed and superb quality, and the simplicity of shooting at one focal length. I might pack the 90mm for inside the church (shots of the bride and groom).

This is certainly not what I would take if I was supposed to be taking proper wedding photos - but it would keep me entertained and hopefully result in a few really memorable, superior images!

I'd take the 50mm and the 90mm too. Now get off of here and practice your speech.

Good luck to your son and his bride to be.

Thanks Peter and thanks for all your replies.

I will definately take the fifty and was going to take the 16-45,but might consider the 90mm now, though what about candid group shots?

Group shots are organised by their nature, what's candid about them? If in doubt, stick the 50mm on.
