Fox and cubs (#2,3) are devils to photograph due to their really intense colours. Well done for getting them right.
Personally, I hate AF macro lenses because they focus on what they want to and not the precise bit you want. #3 is a good example, where the lens went for the maximum contrast at the back and ignored the front third of the flower. The IQ from this one is great, however.

Thanks David - I never knew what they were called (until now) and I couldn't agree more about difficulty in photographing them, I've had 4 or 5 bashes so far and this is the first set that I consider "successful" Fox and cubs (#2,3) are devils to photograph due to their really intense colours. I get your point about AF with macro lenses, indeed for closer macro I would switch to MF but for these I was happy to use AF with Focus Lock to pick a point that would bring about the depth of focus I wanted (in conjunction with the right aperture) - this other one is probably a better example of using the classic focus point...

I believe the basic design of the F, FA, DFA and DFA-Wr is the same (the number of elements and placement seems the same) yet the OOF areas always seem a touch smoother/better on the F! Just my opinion

First one is great. I love the way you isolated the well lit flowers against the background.

Yes, me too, the way that those tiny white flowers pop out is beautiful.

The oldest of the Pentax Autofocus 100 Macro lenses, but still my favourite (today at least).
