Some random sprinkles from Abbotsbury

Hello all. I was on holiday last month in Dorset, and whilst the weather was frankly ropey for a fair bit of the time, I managed to fire off a load of pics as we did the tourist thing (although sadly nothing especially spectacular...) We spent a day ay Abbotsbury (at the top end of Chesil Beach) and I thought I would share a few randoms from there; there is a swannery and a sub-tropical garden which we visited.

All these were taken with either the 55-300 (swannery) or the DFA100 (gardens) on my K5

1. Swans! there are loads at Abbotsbury (and other waterbirds). It was the tail end of the breeding season so the swans are looking a little the worse for wear, and I believe that they're flightless at this time as well until they moult and replace their feathers... no problem swimming though

4. One of the sub-tropical residents (although no idea what it is!)

5. Green!!! - a vibrant leaf

6. I rather liked these leaves as they look like they have been sewn or something

7. An all too familiar view this summer - more rain

I hope you like these - any C&C welcome, and as ever there are more snaps on my flickr page.

Cheers
