Some kind of record?
I think you are mistaken Stefan, we are on the right side and you are on the wrong side

I really need to looked twice since it was so strange but you drive on the wrong side of the road and we on the right side but still it has little purpose
Apparently.
So how does it work Ken,: when a cyclist is in the chequered area does the traffic have to give way to them :
I think you are mistaken Stefan, we are on the right side and you are on the wrong side
The chequered area means you shouldn't enter it unless you can get out the other end, unless you are turning right. A scene you seldom see!

Stefan, you'll never hear an Englishman admit that wrong is the opposite of right. He will insist it's left
Ken the purpose of the cycle road is still unclear to me though
Is it for cyclist to make a U turn?

In the days of old when you met a stranger on the road travelers would pass on the right so it would be easy to reach for a weapon if the they turned out to be unfriendly (dont ask me what left handed people did)
Even europeans did this but for some weird reason Napoleon thought passing on the left was much better, so blame him.
As for the USA I believe it had something to do with the design of the horse drawn frieght wagons, it was easier for the driver to see his left wheels than his right to avoid entanglement.
