Doing abstract photography is rather fun, especially if you are looking only for pleasing or impact full aesthetics. There is the obvious bonus that it can be made almost anywhere. You can find patterns. contrast, shapes and textures anywhere, its up to you how to photograph them.
I plugged my Industar 61 L/Z and extension tubes onto my K10D and on to find some contrasty lines and shapes.
