I had one last week. It had a sticker on it saying due to insufficient postage it may have been delayed slightly .

My feeling - delayed in that warehouse that was filled with sacks and sacks of mail that were kept there because of the weather giving problems .
Royal Fail [ we are told ] had huge bundles of undelivered and un-sent-on stuff that had to be dealt with as the weather eased .
My own feeling , which of course could be wrong , was that once they started on the backlog the top of the pile was dealt with first and it's just taken a very long time to get to floor level.
One of the big problems , of course , was not being able to fly mail out

So there's still hope for the Ever-Ready Case I ordered for my KX before xmas and never received then!
I know it was posted. Royal Fail simply couldn't be bothered to deliver it.

We are talking about Royal Fail here - anything can and does happen
I can send a letter to daughter #1 and one to my GodFather on the same day - both in London , both second class ,both from the same pillar box, and with identical contents , one will get there the next day and the other can take up to 6 days to get there .

You send letters to the Godfather what sort of people are you mixed up with, I though Tecno Terminator was just a handle
As for Royal Mail, I think overall they do a pretty good job, meaning I personally have not had that much mail go missing.

Don't get missing stuff - it's just that some seems inordinately delayed

It's easy to criticise, but I do have some sympathy for an organisation that has its prices capped, has to deliver for the same price to every remote spot in the UK and has competition that is allowed to undercut and cherry-pick which bits are competed for.
My local Post Office is wonderful and the girls there are very helpful and efficient. I have no doubt they get the flak for the failings of the rest of the organisation.
I also have a friend who works in the complaints department of a bank and she regularly gets the most disgraceful phone calls to deal with. I think sometimes the angry complainants forget they are dealing with people doing their job, just like we all try to do.

At least you still have post offices! We don't have them any more, and TNT are in the same situation with regard to private companies taking the best customers.
One really weird thing is TNT don't have a contract with Royal Mail, so business post, mag subscriptions and the like all come to us via Switzerland, and consequently take up to two weeks to arrive, which is not much good for something like Private Eye. Parcels sent to the UK become untrackable once they arrive on British soil. I have one on it's way back to Amazon now. No idea where it is though.
