The 50mm f2 is a fine lens and you should have a great time with it.
The 40mm f2.8 is an exceptional lens, which is probably why people pay over the odds for a good one!

Great price on the 50/2 A. Enjoy it - the A setting makes handling much easier on the DL2.

Wow, I have one in a cupboard that hasn't been used in years (the lens, not the cupboard). In far from mint condition though, well used and it developed a fault (i cant remember what) but the front ring had to have two holes drilled in it to get it off! However in the usual unscientific tests, eg taking normal photos, I'm sure, wide open, it isn't as sharp as the DA40LTD

The SMC Pentax-M 135mm f3.5 is also an excellent lens, capable of the highest quality. However, it is also very common and prices are much lower.
Typically I would expect a mint example to go for £15.00 - £30.00, but there was a period recently where such lenses started going for Silly Money. It seemed to be all 135mm lenses, and I have no idea why.
Check on eBay for current prices.

Along with my 1:2.5 135, I also have this lens.
They are both excellent in different ways.
The 2.5 has become my favorite portrait lens on film (bit much on DSLR).
The 3.5 on bellows is an amazing Macro lens, as well as being terrific on its own in the field.
The 3.5 takes all the usual 49mm filters and hoods, while the larger 2.5 needs 58mm. I strongly suggest a metal hood for that big piece of glass.
They are both excellent in different ways.
The 2.5 has become my favorite portrait lens on film (bit much on DSLR).
The 3.5 on bellows is an amazing Macro lens, as well as being terrific on its own in the field.
The 3.5 takes all the usual 49mm filters and hoods, while the larger 2.5 needs 58mm. I strongly suggest a metal hood for that big piece of glass.

I actually kept the 135mm 3:5 just to use on bellows but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Along with my 1:2.5 135, I also have this lens.

I also have another 135mm I intend to use as well, Its a Phot-All brand which I have never heard of with a 2:8 aperture and 16 bladed iris which i understand will improve the bokeh of the lens.

It looks great on my DL2, and it is tiny - only a bit longer than the M f2.8 Pancake, some silly Buggers pay a fortune for, on a well known auction site. I bet it is optically better, too.
I reckon it's the best sixteen quid I've ever spent - photography wise, anyway. I must get more A's.
