General opinion seems to be that a slimline filter is not needed.
Can't find the official listing you mention, but plenty of other references to it elsewhere.
I have a normal CPL on my 17-70 with no problems, though that is of course only a 67mm filter - isn't the 16-50 a 77mm?.

Thank you Gwyn.
So it doesn't matter what I will get.
What I mean with the official list is that lens manual book you get with some lenses.
In the back there is information about what filters you can use and if you need slim or not.

Al right searched an hour for it yesterday and now i found it at the official Pentax site *sighs*
Here it is http://www.pentaximaging.com/files/manual/DA_Lens_Web_062609.pdf
It's about the Pentax polarisers, but they say type A is larger and type B is thinner so it makes sense to say type B is a slim filter.
For the DA*16-50 & DA17-70 they say you should use the slim polariser.

Interesting Stefan.
I have a Hoya HD Cir-pl and it gives no vignetting on the 17-70 (or the 50-135 or 50-250 either for that matter :wink.

According to them every lens above 17mm have vignetting except the DA16-45 with the Type B polarisers filter.
It doesn't really matter since the slim version of the Käsemann MRC is €175 and the normal €165 so for those €10 I'm not going to take the risk.
