slide show with security settings

I've head this is possible with acrobat reader. Basically, I'm looking for a way to give clients a CD with images that they can't use or copy or email. Is there a free program out there to do this? Where do I look for the adobe acrobat version that allows you to set security settings? Anyone have a better idea than this?
What I've found up to now is ideally showing clients the images at my studio is best but this is not always possible. Watermarking 200 images is too much work and so is uploading onto some sort of secure site I imagine. Thanks for any tips.

David,

To create secure PDF files with Adobe you need their full package http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/acrobatstd.html or http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/, however they turn out to be pretty expensive.

Have a look at Secure PDF http://www.securepdf.co.uk/main.html which may be a cheaper option.

EDIT:-
http://www.verypdf.com/encryptpdf/ is even cheaper. Most of these packages put a password onto the PDF which unlocks the protected functions, and there are programs around which can reverse this (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Office-tools/PDF/PDF-Password-Remover.shtml). So your secure PDF maynot always be as secure as you hope!

There's absolutely no way of 100% guaranteeing protection. User can always grab a screen shot.

Best way is to resize and watermark. There are numerous free packages that will do that for you automatically (Think IrfanView even can do all that.)

If you make each image no larger than 500 pixels they can't do much with that, even if it's not watermarked, but yet it should still be good enough for deciding what they want.

I found something for about £15 on ebay I'm looking into.
My experience has been that much of the free or cheap software can do many of the things I want. And thanks for the software tips you mentioned.

And Mark, so far the 500 pixel thing doesn't work, I've even had a B&W that was about 300x500 used as a magazine cover! What I'm trying to avoid is watermarking everything (even if a program does it automatically it's still a bit of legwork)...anyway, the security settings idea sounded good.

Anyone know if there's any free pdf software or other type that restricts jpgs that will cover this idea?

David,

There was a free PDF creator I found about 2 years ago. However it added a footer to every page "this document was created in XXXXXX". Trouble is I can't recall what it was called and google doesn't seem to find it!. I'll keep looking.

CutePDF is a good (and free ) pdf program, but i'm not sure if it supports encryption - have a look on google. even if it doesn't, its otherwise a v. useful tool.
