Do you remember Jessops did this with some of the small Nikon's, Canon's and others. I think it makes them look cheap, lenses yes but not Camera Body's..
My view is Pentax should know better than go down this route.

It looks better in the flesh - honest!
They had one down at SRS on the Saturday they threw their K20D launch / hands-on day. I'm not sure if it was theirs or belonged to Pentax as there were people from Pentax UK in the shop that day too. It caught my eye as I wondered what my silver Limiteds would look like on there...

I dunno Terry, I have a lot of older Pentax film bodies with a fair bit of bright metal finish - Spotmatics through Super Program - and I think that little K200 harkens back to those good old days.
I agree with Hefty that the silver limiteds would look great on it.
May have to do with my age.......

Silver looks fine when it's high quality anodised metal, superb when it's brass underneath...but in those far off days ("in ancient times") amteurs aspired towards owning that professional black finish...it was more expensive and wore off more easily, but it still was the desireable version.
Personally I prefer plastic finishes to be black.

The first time I saw the silver K200D was on a foreign site, I think it was russian, could be wrong. Didn't think much of it then and still don't now.
My standard black body shows my old 28-80 silver lens of very well, it doesn't over power the lens.
Ltds look just fine on black, why bother with silver?

The 'silver' K200D is slightly brown in colour and it does not look good. The Silver *istD was actually silver. The K200D is just dull like it needs a polish.
