Silly question (probably)

Ah - that explains it then. Thought I was going loopy loo (well even more than normal).
No worries Algi,
Hubby has machined off a bit of the outside of the T2 adapter and a little bit off of the inside of a cheapo tube with the female K fitting on it.
The T2 adapter is now nesstled inside the end of the cheapo tube and held in place with the grub screws - and it works brilliantly. So I'm a happy bunny.
I'm still not sure whether I'd be better off just sticking with the extention tubes and cropping a bit.
Thanks Algi,

Glad to hear that it's sorted. These connectors are worth having, because you never know when you will need them.
You can add quite a lot of tubes together to give almost bellows length.
A Pentax Helecoid extension tube is well worth having, but about £60 (ebay).
It's worth having a Soligor M42 reversing ring. It's made similar to a T2 adapter with 3 grub screws which allow you to rotate the reversed lens to wherever you want. Loads on ebay

It will work with any non-auto tube such as the £4 ones from China?
If you have a spare auto-tube and a Dremel the levers usually cut off very easily (takes about 5 mins).... you just need to cover all the rest of the tube with masking tape to keep the bits out. There seems to be about 2mm spare so cutting the lever and leaving 1-2mm projecting should be OK. It doesn't have to be exactly flush. It might be possible to remove the lever by taking the tube apart.
The other way would be to cut a notch right through the side of the T-Mount but that would be harder and you would need the exact position.
Buying a non-auto tube might be the easiest. Possibly someone on here
might have one to spare?
