SIGMA EF 500 DG ST/Super

To be honest the battery door is the Achilles heel of nearly every modern camera or flash I've used. It occurs to me that instead of trying to use springs or little plastic hinges they could have doors that simply slide on and this would reduce the potential for breakage... on the other hand I'd probably just lose it then

vivitar 285, 283 series....every manufacturer should copy.....little battery clips are a godsend when you need a fast battery swap, in the dark.

Dom - the 283 - do you use them in auto or full-manual ode? I have a couple 283's and remote sensor cables I used to use for portraits (weddings, etc.) I haven't taken the time to dig them out (they're still packed in boxes from a couple moves back...)

Are they OK on the K10D voltage wise? Have you tried the remote sensing?

mine work great, esp with nmhd rechargables.
(I don't know if like the 285 hv there's older ones that you have to worry about voltage).

i use them both ways depends on the setup...
remote sensors are usefull as they don't swivel, and if you have them on umbrella stands, you need the sensor off the unit.
