I have one, I bought it from one of the members here, it was in great condition, clean and everything working. Don't use it much because to get the best of it you need a sturdy tripod. We are talking about a 900mm equivalent on a K5 etc., so support is needed to get the best of it. It does give good results, maybe a little soft, especially toward the edges, but you can sharpen stuff a bit in software. I also had the 500mm Tamron, I think results were much the same, but I like the Sigma better.

I have one as well. I prefer it to the 500mm Tamron, which I also have, because it has a dedicated Pentax mount where as the the Tamron has an Adaptall 2 mount and requires an adaptor for the Pentax. The extra 100mm is also probably an advantage.

The build quality is excellent but it is heavy!

Image quality wise I think it compares equally with the Tamron.

I have to say that I do not use it very much. In recent times it has been mainly used for shots of the moon and for this I have to agree with Galoot that a sturdy tripod is needed.

I had one a while back, great way to get good length on a budget. In good light it was fine. They have a weird doughnut bokeh but I didn't mind that.
These were taken using the brilliant Pentax exclusive Catch in Focus.

Although I could probably process them better these days
