Sigma 55-200 f4

Hi,

I have been offered a Sigma 55-200 F4 lens with hood for £45, which I though was an amazing deal, Am I right in thinking this? It's my first tele-zoom as I only got my digital body over the weekend So it is very much a starter lens.

Can anyone comment on the lens and the offer at all?

It's a good deal for a starter lens.Think of it as sigma's own kit lens

The Sigma lens is OK (I had one with my first DSLR), and I think that price is OK, but the Pentax 50-200mm provides similar quality in a more portable package, and the Tamron 70-300mm provides more reach for not much more money or very much more bulk.
