Sigma 50-500

I have always wanted a Bigma but recently I have seen the prices increase massively until I spotted that they're much cheaper again in the US. 47 St Photo have them for $960/£585 which is a big saving on UK prices.

Has anyone bought from the US recently and does anyone know how much the import duty is?

It feels like a big saving?

I just bought a used K20 and other bits the value was on the customs receipt of $450 they charged me £98 plus £18 administration before they would release it, if you buy a new one it will be 15% vat and the admin charge and maybe import duty, good luck, oh and it took a month.

If you look on hear(Forum) one or two have had focus problems it's a long way to send back if Sigma here won't look at it here.

Who ever said that photo kit quickly lost its value? I could probably sell mine and make a profit
