Sigma 170-500mm

Hey,
If someone is interested, I saw this lens on the bay.
Price is about right I think.
I'd like to get one for birds and critters, but I've got other priorities lined up...
Hope its of interest.

Hmm. Just bought a brand new Bigma on the basis that if I decided not to keep it I could stil sell it for a small loss. Might have to rethink that one!

That's because the idiot that sold it can't copy the name off the box, they put 500 mm instead of 500mm and it would not have been picked up by any searches. I searched ebay myself yesterday for "Pentax 500mm" and missed it.

A couple of months back a friend of mine took a punt on a DA*50-135 (against my advice) on eBay. It was a zero feedback seller using a stock photo and no wording other than "Pentax lens brand new". I was convinced it was going to be a scam, as did everyone else as my friend was the only one who bid on it - hence he won at the starting price of £250.

Two days (of mild panic and me winding him up) later it turned up on his doorstep and was, as described, brand new in the box and perfect condition. I was gobsmacked and he was, needless to say, delighted with his bargain.

Just goes to show there are still bargains to be had on eBay but sometimes you just have to take a bit of a risk.

wow i paid nearly £500 for my 170-500mm dg about a month ago they got a real bargain,as mentioned by paul there hard to come by and the one i had off him was the non dg version and that was a cracker i have seen no difference bettween the non and dg version,

I saw that earlier..... 10 years old and used quite a bit for sports photography... wonder if that means in the rain?
