Don't think I've ever seen this one in a Pentax mount before, but here it is on Amazon...

Looks as though Sigma may be issuing more of their lenses in PAF fit.

SRS have the new 300mm f4 for £899 (they just had some in stock, but they're gone now)

Well, I was just looking at that. I'm sure that when it was announced, and until quite recently, the RRP was £899, but it now seems to be £999, which has made me think again... Can get the Sigma 100-300mm f/4 for about £750 and the zoom would be more versatile.

I was thinking that the retail price would be about £100 less, and that would make it more attractive compared to the Sigma (even though it would still be more, SDM and weather-sealing would be a bonus). But if it's around £900 - £1000, I'm not so sure...

Just found this on the Warehouse Express site, a new one in Pentax fit too, as far as I know. A little bit more pricey though, definitely up your street though Clarky.

Dan if you can this sort of price for your Pentax-F AF Adapter 1.7X you will be half way to that Pentax 300mm
