It's the apo version

If it were the DG it would have been a very good price but it's still pretty decent for the APO version if it's in good nick. Put it this way, you will almost certainly get your money back (and probably even make a small profit) should you not get on with it.
The 150-500mm is the better lens with its inbuilt OS but then it should be as its a lot newer and a lot more expensive.

She did once tell me in a post on here that the performance of the 170-500mm film version and the digital version was identical. It was just a bit of marketing speak. Sounds too good to turn down at £230

I have had 4 170-500mm, dg and non dg and from my findings there was no difference in picture quality, my findings were all the 170-500mmm I had were better and sharper than the 2 150-500mm os I had, I now have a 50-500mm os and its awsome but i would still say the 170-500mm is as good at 500mm wide open, and its a great lens beacuse its only 1.3kg, so buy it and enjoy, and if you sell on you should make £300/350 easy

By the way, wanted to ask a Sigma 50-500? I am concerned about finding telephoto 400-500mm and the only thing I can find on it is this Pentax Sigma .. but on different forums about it estimates range from excellent to bad .. how it compared to a telephoto of brands?

I have found a good deal on a 170-500mm sigma but have heard that the 150-500mm is a better lens. What are the issues with the 170? at £230 is it too good a deal to turn down?
