Sigma 100-300 4.0 EX: Any feedback?

Anyone have any experience with the Sigma 100-300 4.0 EX lens? Unfortunately, Sigma has stated they won't be making their 120-300 2.8 EX in the Pentax mount in the forseeable future and I am hoping this is a good alternative.
