There has been quite a bit on the press and TV about this and similar sites and proposed legislation to control them. Bottom line is that this is not an auction site like eBay but in fact a gambling site. Try it and see!
You buy credits and bid but the auction can last for months and presumably only stops when the operators have made a substantial profit, you can easily work out just how much. A camera may sell for £12.53 but there may have been many thousands of paid bids.
