Shrine at crossroads

Not sure if 'shrine' is the correct word for this, please free to correct me if I'm wrong. The pictures are taken in a small village in Poland at crossroads (in August this year). I cloned out some overhanging wires and resized, otherwise the pictures are intact.

Very nice Michal! Yes, it looks like a shrine, is it dedicated to something/someone in particular?

I prefer the 2nd one as I really like the cobbled road leading off to the right. Is that a normal public road? It's a lot prettier than tarmac!

Lovely village,I too prefer the second but even then would like a little more saturation, although that may be my monitor or a case of how you like your shots. Just taken another look and I am wrong the colour is fine just looked a bit 'smoky' when I first looked.

As you have asked for a CC I would say that the second shot does not seem very sharp, the cobbles are nearly there but the Shrine is not I also find the red roof distracting and wonder is there was a better place to shoot from. Sorry that seems a bit negative and I did enjoy viewing them.

PS Good job on the cloning in the 2nd one! I read you had done some cloning in your post, but didn't think about it until just now. Really good job!

In Poland such shrines (or crosses) are in most of villages at the crossroads. Usually they are dedicated to St. Mary or Jesus Christ (as in this case). They were meant to deter all evil. In old times crossroads were considered magical and haunted by evil powers, devils and witches.
It is a public road, but I'm sure you'd change your mind after driving or biking (or even walking) this road. It looks pretty (and it is very durable, imagine that it survived tanks going on it), but it is not so comfortable On the other hand the road prevents speeding

BTW, I spent quite a time cloning out these wires - but slowly improving

I only just noticed this but I think you also need to clone out the shadow of the wires on the cobbled road. Or is that something else?

The red roof is a power station, but it was too big for me to clone it out Unfortunately, it was probably the best place to take the picture from - at least when I wanted to show both roads. But you're right it's not so sharp - I'm surprised, I used rather small aperture (7.1) so I rather expected it better. It might be that I took it handheld (I have to buy a tripod, really), but it is wide lens so I thought it will be fine. I'm happy you liked it

The shadow comes from an A-pole which was on the right-hand side of the road

Re: Red Roof perhaps a little burn would tone the roof down a bit, it is always the way you you see a scene that you wish to capture and some fool sticks a power station in the way.
