No Christmas tree this year. With a 7 month old dog and an eight month old cat, it wouldn't survive.

That's a lovely looking dog, and I guess he would love tearing apart your xmas tree.

Absolutely no photographic merit, but here's mine.

Apparently "No Tree until I've finished decorating the dining room!" So just have fun playing (badly) with the lights.

Well I have just spent 40 minutes knitting my own tree.
We used to have an adopted tree, but it didn't survive. So we decided since real trees are ridiculously expensive, and as we are celebrating Christmas at my son's, that we'd buy a good fake tree, to see us through a good few years.
My goodness if I had realise how much work was involved in putting the thing together I wouldn't have bothered.
Still haven't decorated it though. That'll have to wait until I've got over putting it together.

Well not really knitting it - but every blinking branch clicks in separately and all the twigs on the branch have to open out and positioned. I would have been better off with a couple of knitting needles and a ball of green wool I reckon.

Should have gone for the Shake'n'Vac version even though it was nearly twice the price .

The wife does a very good job of dressing the tree and woe betide anyone who gets in her way.

I've decorated out tree for the last 32 years (since we got married) and everytime the wife would come along later and add a few more baubles just because they were left over, "you can never have too many" she would say.

So this year I let her do the tree, she made a really nice job but when I (rather sarcastically) commented that there wasn't anywhere near enough baubles on it she replied "well we dont want to guild the lilly"

No camera so I just had a go at drawing mine.

Better not show the wife as she took a little longer doing the decorating than I did.

Unfortunately mine is in a pot in my mum's garden, after putting on a few inches of growth from last year. I think the shock of being brought indoors after being out in sub-zero temperatures would kill it - I should have put it in the conservatory several weeks ago to acclimatise it. I might buy a little bay tree from the garden centre this year - at least it would have a culinary purpose.
