Does your camera fit with the 70-200mm attached?
How much more can you get in it.

Just to throw it into the mix, there is the Pentax Jill-e, although it is not the sort of bag that everyone would like to carry

Before you buy the Jill-e from Amazon bear in mind Sue bought one for £39.95 so there may be a bit of price variation in the marketplace!

Out of pure cusriosity, how does it fare as a camera bag. I've seen it before and it really is a bit of a niche product and I'm not aware of anything similar.

Is it something you (or Sue) feels is as secure as (say) a Lowepro?

It's going to be potentially useful for days when she's out and about but not on a photographic trip. It means she could carry DSLR+lens unobtrusively in what will other wise be a handbag. The camera will be held securely away from keys, purses, phones, other things that girls carry in their handbags.

If it's a photographic trip then it's the Billingham Hadley.

Having said that, such a purpose has not yet arisen.

I have a Lowepro Nova 3 AW that packs in an incredible amount of gear in a tiny space!

* K-5 + DA*16-50 + Grip
* DA*50-135
* DA12-24
* AF360FGZ
* Cactus v4 set
* FA50/1.4

(Needs careful packing to get this lot in, but it's not a problem at all!)

I've also got the Lowepro Classified 140AW (sepia) which is great for travel (bought for a trip to US) and for not looking too much like a camera bag. Very padded, so it's more bulky than it needs to be. Realistically I can get in K-5/DA*16-50/DA*50-135/DA12-24 (but have squeezed in DA55-300 as well). There's reasonable pockets for documents and other bits (you can get in an un-cased iPad apparently).

If she's anything like my other half then you will never see the camera again. It will be there but, like keys and mobile phones, will be impossible to find whenever it's actually needed!

I have a Crumpler, which doesn't look like a camera bag but is pretty useless as one too, and a Lowepro Classified 250 AW link(still for sale open to offers :wink which holds stacks of gear and a laptop and is carry-on legal.

However I now have bought myself a largish handbag into which I can fit my netbook and camera and lenses, and phone, keys, e-book, passport etc. Depending on how much gear I am carrying I can use a Tenba insert in it.

"I think the Hadley (billingham) offer more protection for gear as a 'city-walkaround' than the Domke's...

Can you confirm this chunky?"

Yes I most certainly can. The Domke is a superb piece of kit especially the F2 Rugged Wear version (waxed cotton) but as they arrive straight out of the box the Billingham Hadley has a lot more protection going for it and makes a superb city walk around bag. I regularly use mine as a sort of messenger bag.
The Domke F2 however can be improved with an aftermarket insert that is far better than the one supplied by Domke. I don't know if they are available in the UK as I obtained mine in of all places North Korea for about £4.00
My good wife has recently binned it as it was completely worn out after only 12 years use.
Things just don't last these days!
